2018 Marks Miami Small Business Milestone
1 May 2018, Miami, FL. Barlop Business Systems is proud to announce its thirty-fifth year as the leading business solutions and technology specialist in Miami-Dade County. In an era where companies come and go, Barlop has been able to grow significantly throughout the years because of its continued innovation.
Barlop focuses on consulting companies on how to best manage, service and support their company’s print fleet. The company’s sales consultants, look at the client’s individual needs from every angle to help them create the future they want. The partnership with the industry’s top brands and manufacturers allows them to deliver personalized print and document solutions to improve business performance.
Barlop Business Systems, a local, small business enterprise, as well as minority & family owned business with great community presence, provides its clients with equipment, services & solutions to improve their productivity. Jose Lopez and Juan Barroso, both National parts managers at a local copier/printer company in the 80’s, were left unemployed, when the company was bought out and relocated to New Jersey. The two decided to take a leap of faith to venture into building their own business and in May 1983 Barlop became a corporation in the state of Florida. (The name is a portmanteau from Barroso (Bar) and Lopez (Lop). Barlop began in a small 600 square foot office in Hialeah Gardens with 3 employees, grew to a larger 2,000 square foot office a couple of years later and by the early 90’s moved into their long time warehouse facility of over 8,000 square feet. In October 2014, Barlop moved once again thanks to substantial growth to a brand new 15,000 square feet location in Doral, Florida, and a staff of 30 employees including 7 sales representatives, 7 technicians, 2 IT Solution specialists.
The early success of Barlop began with analog copiers, and then went on to become a Gestetner Dealer (which later became Lanier/Ricoh brand), in Digital Copiers, later adding on Oki and Samsung to their lineup. As time passed and technology changed the demand for innovation grew stronger, office equipment was now capable of being a complete ALL in ONE solution. Their need not to be just known as a “copier company” was inevitable and the change led them to provide Copy, Scan, Print, Fax and Document Management. In 2016, Barlop began offering Managed IT Services, being able to be a business’s sole provider for the product, service and solution to help companies be more productive and efficient while saving them money. Most Recently, Barlop became a Premier HP Partner, which has added even more opportunity for growth in managed print services, and in their product line. This addition has been able to give clients options and flexibility to be able to target the exact needs and wants.
